Writers Caution

I just read an article that addressed dishonest practices that are becoming more accepted and commonplace in the Christian community. One of the practices mentioned is ghostwriting.

It is disheartening to see these things going on, especially for the church that has already been blasted so much by the media for hypocrisy. But I had to also check myself and see if I was guilty of doing the same. In the past, I’ve been tempted to embellish to make my stories more memorable. After reading this article, I went through some of my writings and removed words or changed sentences that would give any hint of another meaning other than what was really intended. I don’t even want to chance it.

I’ve always believed that the best writing is honest writing. I hope I practice what I preach.
